Early stages for childhood education, by The Old School House Day Nursery.
PRE-SCHOOL AT THE OLD SCHOOL HOUSE NURSERY
Our environment is full of creative and natural materials which are used to enable the children to express and understand the world around them. We have chosen certain toys, resources and equipment to create an environment that inspires our children and feed their imaginations. The environment we have created enables staff to focus on the key areas of the Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS) including personal, social and emotional development; communication and language’ physical development; literacy; mathematics; understanding of the world and expressive arts and design, through our children’s interests.
The children have access to materials and resources such as clay, paints, recycled and natural objects, which they can use to construct and build through their child lead play. Our preschool children also have access to our free flow environment to exciting areas such as role play, construction, musical and sensory areas.
Our Early Years Teachers and Key Workers will work closely you’re your child and Preschool groups, to create a rich and well-resourced learning spaces within our free flow environment using our children's interests.
Key workers are assigned to all children to ensure that we meet our children's learning and development needs as well as individual interests.
Preschool children who are due to start Reception Class in September cover various activities, which will prepare them for this transition.
